Interfaith Community Announcement: Candlelight Vigil Tonight

Fairfax County Faith Communities in Action (FCIA) extends its condolences to the Sikh Community following the murder of six worshippers in a Sikh temple in Wisconsin.   FCIA is saddened by this act of violence and the suffering that it has brought upon the Sikh community. Fairfax County residents are encouraged to reach out to their Sikh neighbors to express their sorrow and provide support as they mourn the death of these worshippers. Faith Communities in Action continues to stand strong in its commitment to foster religious understanding and respect within Fairfax County. 

The Sikh Foundation of Virginia is holding a Candlelight Vigil tonight, August 9th , at 8:35 pm to “express deep collective sadness in view of the mass killings at Oak Creek Gurdwara Sahib in Milwaukee on Sunday, and to express solidarity with the affected families.”  The candlelight vigil will be held on the grounds of the Sikh Foundation of Virginia located at 7250 Ox Road, Fairfax Station, Virginia.  All are welcomed.
