St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, Traditional Worship 10.13.13:  Join us as we celebrate Children’s Sabbath at St. Matthew’s! Director of Children’s Ministries, Carrie Schwab, leads us in worship with the help our children. Carrie delivers the message: An Example of Great Faith. Psalm 139:1-6, 13-16; Matthew 15:21-28.

St. Matthew’s Sunday Morning Worship - 11:15am Traditional Service on 9.22.13:  Join us as Pastor Jay leads worship with the message, It Must Be the Will of God - Really?? Our third graders are honored in worship as they receive their Bibles from St. Matthew’s. We continue our sermon series, Suffering: A Challenge to Our Faith. Scriptures: Psalm 62:5-12; Luke 8:4-15.

Here are several dates to put on your calendar for St. Matthew’s Children’s Ministries activities!
No Children’s Sunday School or WOW on Sunday, Sept. 1st 
Children’s Sunday School Kick-Off – Sunday School classes for children will begin on Sunday, Sept. 8th.  Come meet your new teachers and classmates, and celebrate the beginning of a new school year. 
Blessing of the Backpacks – On Sunday, Sept. 8th, all children are encouraged to bring their backpacks to worship. A special blessing for the new school year will be given.
Children’s Choirs and Faith Enrichment Kick-Off – Monday, Sept. 9th (2:30 – 5:30pm)

Children’s Sunday School Teacher Training – Two training sessions will be offered for Children’s Sunday School teachers. Please join us either on Sunday, Aug. 25th at 12:30pm or Wednesday, Sept. 4th at 7:00pm.

Old Maps Needed for Vacation Bible School: We are in need of maps for one of our VBS crafts this summer. Any kind of map (local, national, world, etc.) is fine. If you can give, please leave your map in the VBS donation bin located in the church library. Thanks for your help!

Oh, Jonah!  A Children’s Musical, will be presented by our Wesley and Altar choirs TOMORROW at 8:15 or 11:15 AM!  Join us as our children help lead us in this musical worship event!  (We will have a service of Scripture and song at the 9:45 Modern Worship service.)

VBS & KAMP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  Vacation Bible School and KAMP are two of our largest outreach programs to children in the community each summer reaching nearly 200 children.  This summer’s VBS & KAMP will take place on July 15-19 from 9 a.m. to noon (registration information will come at a later date).  To make this program a success we need tons of volunteers before, during, and after the program.  If you are interested in getting involved please contact Carrie Schwab.
